Rockwell Collins offers Venue™ aftermarket upgrade for biz jet cabins
GENEVA, Switzerland (May 03, 2010) - Rockwell Collins today announced it is now offering its award-winning Venue™ High Definition (HD) cabin management system
as an aftermarket upgrade for business jets. The retrofit solution will be available through qualified Rockwell Collins dealers.
"Extending our Venue cabin management system to the aftermarket will allow operators of existing aircraft to take advantage
of the proven design and productivity capabilities the system offers," said Tommy Dodson, vice president and general manager,
Cabin Systems at Rockwell Collins. "Adding Venue to our robust aftermarket offerings is yet another way operators can increase
aircraft value and enhance their cabin experience."
Venue is the industry's first complete, HD cabin management system for business aircraft that includes the features and functionality
of the most advanced home entertainment systems and executive suites. It offers wide-screen and high definition in-seat and
bulkhead displays, intuitive switch and touchscreen controllers, HD sources such as the Venue Media Center and Dual Blu-Ray
Disc player, plus integrated audio-on-demand, audio and video jukebox, and extensive support for passengers' personal electronic
devices, including computers, Blackberry® phones, iPods, iPhones, and soon, the Apple iPad.
Venue's onboard data network, including wired and Wi-Fi options, integrates with various broadband services, enabling passengers
to stay connected and productive via laptops, voice-over IP, or other personal devices throughout flight. The system's HDMI
and VGA ports allow computers to be displayed on the cabin monitors, enabling passengers to collaborate on and to share presentations
or other content.
This system has been certified on both the Hawker Beechcraft King Air 350i and Cessna Citation CJ4 aircrafts.
